It’s A Man’s World… And Why It Needs Not To Be

Friday 10 November 2017 marked Equal Pay Day. It’s the day on which, based on the current gender pay gap, women effectively stop earning relative to men. With the gap between male and female pay sitting at a staggeringly 14.1% – and worse, not having closed in the last three years, despite the increased publicity and mandatory gender pay reporting regulations which have been introduced – it is time for us all to take action.

Since I started writing this blog, the post I’ve had most requested is for me to write something about being a senior woman in business. I’ve resisted this, for a couple of reasons. Partly because I hate the fact that this is even something to write about, that it’s in any way newsworthy. If I were male, would I be getting a load of requests to write about being a senior man in business? Probably not.
